BIOSTATISTICS WORKSHOP 2019

Overview: The workshop is designed for the health care providers who have a limited knowledge in biostatistics and its application. Through a combination of didactic and hands-on workshop sessions using hands-on one to one support, the workshop attendees will learn how to do

  • Excel to SPSS data entry and transfer, data validation, conditional formatting, sorting and using formulas, bar, line, pie, box plot, scatterplot, histogram outputs
  • Basic analysis in SPSS to understand missing data, wrong data entry, outliers and duplicates
  • Standard deviations, z-scores, quartiles, means and medians
  • Normal vs skewed distribution and sample size calculation
  • Graphical methods (histogram, Q-Q plot, P-P plot, box and whisker plot); statistical methods (skewness statistic, Shapiro Wilk, Kolmogorov Smironov)
  • Odds ratios, risk ratios, Student’s t-test, Mann-Whitney U test, ANOVA, Kruskall-Wallis test, Paired t-test, Wilcoxon signed rank sum test, Chi-square test, Fisher’s exact test and McNemar test
  • Correlation, linear regression, logistic regression in SPSS
  • Systematic Review and Meta analysis (Revman)

NEOPHYSIOLOGY WORKSHOP 2020

Overview: This is an innovative workshop focused on advanced brain monitoring techniques including aEEG, NIRS and Cerebral Dopplers. Also the participants would learn about advanced cardiovascular monitoring including systemic vascular resistance calculations, venous return, cardiac output assessments, cerebral autoregulation, advanced respiratory monitoring, strategies for oxygen weaning and reduction, assessment of V-Q mismatch and lung recruitment strategies by using innovative mechanical ventilation simulator.

2nd International POCUSNEO WORKSHOP 2020

Overview: The workshop is designed for neonatal care providers who have a limited knowledge of bedside ultrasound. Through a combination of didactic and hands-on workshop sessions using simulation equipments and realistic phantom models, the workshop attendees will learn fundamentals of ultrasound physics and scanning techniques.
